Local Village Walk of Bakkagerdi

On this tour, you will get a glimpse of the traditional everyday life in Borgarfjordur Eystri which is locally known as Bakkagerdi. On a two-hour long walk around town, accompanied by a local guide. You will experience the town’s true spirit in a way otherwise inaccessible. Along the way, we meet friendly and welcoming locals and learn about their daily lives as well as the history, culture, and architecture of the area. We will visit the beautiful local church, an old turf house still inhabited to this day and the working Fish factory where many of the locals work.
